Nanyang Press Foundation has sent a team of 12 people to Azad Kashmir to help in relief efforts in Pakistan.

The foundation funded the expedition, comprising two surgeons and six other medical experts, two reporters, a photographer and a mountaineer (Mr. Ravichandran), who brought with them more than RM100,000 worth of medical supplies and blankets for earthquake survivors.

Each team member is also insured up to RM50,000 by Insfield Insurance Brokers Sdn Bhd.

The team's medical supplies worth RM50,000 and consisting mostly of antibiotics, is enough to treat 3,000 to 5,000 people.

The team is scheduled to return on Oct 31.
